Tonight 7 p.m. at the Scottish Heritage Center

Tonight’s presentation will be on the use of the Gaelic language in this community.

Few know that our earliest Presbyterian, Methodist, and Baptist churches in Scotland County started out bilingual – and that a large population in this greater region spoke the most prominent European language outside of English to have been spoken in this state until the last part of the 20th century!

Many of you know some Gaelic words and didn’t even know it! Ever put on a pair of "britches"? Even heard a lot of something called a "slew" or "galore?"

Come learn more tonight….it’ll be a fun adventure.

Free T-shirts while they last to any students who attend….

Hope to see you tonight!
