Biology – Equine Science Specialization (B.A. or B.S.)

Equine Science… Humans and Horses Have Always had a Connection

Students in the Equine Science Program have the opportunity to experience that connection while working closely with experienced veterinarians and getting hands-on interaction with horses.

  • The B.S. program covers additional sciences as part of the curriculum and is ideal for students seeking admission to a veterinary program or graduate study in biology.
  • The B.A. program requires fewer total science credits and is a great option for students interested in careers in wildlife management, environmental management or teaching biology.

“Being a part of the Pre Vet program has allowed me to gain so much knowledge, both hands on and in the classroom, about a wide variety of aspects of veterinary medicine. As an intern I get to work with Dr. Kellam on a wide variety of cases and learn about all aspects of them, from diagnostics to treatment. I love that we can learn in the classroom, and then we can go out to the barn and actually see it on the horses.”
