St. Andrews University Western Team Crowned 2025 IHSA Semi-Finals Champion Team

Laurinburg, NC – March 17, 2025 – The St. Andrews University Western Team had a phenomenal weekend at the 2025 IHSA Semi-Finals in New Jersey, earning the title of Semi-Finals Champion Team and securing their place at Nationals, which will be held in May in Tryon, North Carolina.
The weekend was a true testament to the dedication, talent, and teamwork of the SAU Western program. Not only did the team achieve multiple individual and team championships, but they also contributed to the event by bringing four of their exceptional SAU horses.
Head Coach Carla Wennberg expressed her pride in the team’s accomplishments, saying, “This weekend was a shining example of what makes St. Andrews University so special. It takes a village to achieve this level of success, and we have an incredible one. From our talented riders to our amazing horses and the support of our entire community, this victory is a shared achievement. I couldn’t be prouder of this team and their hard work. We’re ready to take on Nationals in May!”

Back on Track High Point Rider Competition:
Chase Summerville delivered an outstanding performance, placing 3rd in the High Point Rider, securing his spot to compete in the prestigious High Point Rider competition at Nationals.

The St. Andrews University Western Team is now setting their sights on Nationals in Tryon, North Carolina, where they will compete against the best in the country. The entire SAU community is rallying behind the team as they prepare to represent the university on the national stage.
