Hello Knights!
It’s that time of year again…we are now accepting submissions for Gravity Hill, our student-run literary magazine! As you have settled into the semester, it’s a good time to reflect on some creative work you’ve done in the past (maybe from one of Dr. Goldberg’s creative writing courses) AND take a moment out of your busy schedules to relax and do something innovative. Not only is showcasing your work beneficial to those of us who get to see it, but it’s also beneficial to YOU (it looks great on a resume, and you get bragging rights amongst your friend groups).
Now through March 1st, we are accepting both works of literature (poetry, prose, short stories, plays, brief memoirs, etc.) and works of art (paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures, etc.) created by you. The guidelines for submitting are included below. If you have any work you’d like to submit or have any further questions regarding submissions, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I am your peer and very friendly, which hopefully makes it less daunting to do so 🙂
Written Pieces:
- We accept ALL genres (short non-fiction, short fiction, poetry, one-act plays, essays, music compositions, etc.)
- To submit, email a copy of your piece in .docx format to either Anna (phelpsab) or to the Press email (press)
Art Pieces
- All mediums are welcome (paintings, sculptures, digital art, photographs, collages, etc.)
- Your pieces can be in color or black and white, but keep in mind that they will be converted to black and white in the magazine
- There are no size limitations, but your picture must translate well onto a 6×9-inch page
- To submit, email a jpeg picture of your art to Anna (phelpsab) or to the Press email (press)
Have something to submit, but need it workshopped? Don’t have anything to submit, but want to? In February, I will be co-hosting another Creative Writing Workshop for this very purpose. Keep your eyes out for further details including date and time (study hall credit may be included).
Thanks, everyone! I can’t wait to see what you’ve got!!
Anna
